Buying from us:
We store the items donated at the two depots in
Hawick and Walkerburn. This is where people who want to buy from us
would visit to make their choices. Walkerburn is our main depot and has most stock but there is a computer terminal in Hawick which allows visitors to see some of the stock we have in Walkerburn. You can also view these items here.
We offer a chargable delivery service or items can be taken away on the day of sale. As a
charity we give priority to those people most in need. Local
organisations get in touch with us to refer their clients. This entitles
the referral to get a discount off the marked costs of the item and from the
delivery cost.
To get a referral you need to be in receipt of a qualifying benefit and would get referred to us through the eligable organisations that we work with. When the completed form
has been sent off to Home Basics we expect the client or their support
worker to get in touch with their nearest depot to make arrangements for
a visit.
Sales of surplus stock
take place in the depots. Hawick is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm and Saturdays
from 10am to 1pm, and Walkerburn has public sale days on Thursdays from 10am to 4pm
and Saturdays from 10am to 1pm. If you would like to visit outside of these hours then please Contact Us to arrange a suitable time.
The stock changes all the time with new items added every few days so it is worthwhile to keep popping in.
You can pay with cash
or cheques. We don't have the facility to accept debit or
credit cards and we don't give credit or take deposits for items.
