Meet the Team
Home Basics is run by paid members of staff and lots of volunteers. The charity has a team of voluntary Directors who are the Trustees. The Directors meet once a month and also have sub-groups to look at specific needs.
Some of the people you might encounter most often at Home Basics are:
Ruth MacDonnell - General Manager
Ruth is based at the Walkerburn depot. Ruth is the person
to contact if you have any questions about how the charity is run or
have any comments that you want to pass on. Ruth is assisted by Bruce and Catherine to help organise the van collections and delivery schedules.
Tom Knox - Depot Co-ordinator
Tom is Shop Manager
at our premises in Hawick, where a selection of furniture items are
available for sale. A computer terminal allows customers to see what
items are held at the Walkerburn depot.
Brian and Ian - Van Drivers
We employ Ian and Brian as our drivers and they are helped by a number of different volunteers.
Dennis Fisher - Volunteer Development Worker
Dennis is in charge of recruiting and supporting our volunteers. He is the person to speak to if you are interested in volunteering with Home Basics.
